Expert consultation system for management of large medical equipment

The national health and Family Planning Commission has issued a notice to establish a large medical equipment management advisory expert committee. At present, the large-scale medical equipment management advisory expert committee has been established. And implement the management measures for large medical equipment management consulting experts. According to the measures, the national health and Family Planning Commission implements an expert consultation system in the formulation of management policies for large-scale medical equipment, the preparation of configuration planning, and the implementation of configuration evaluation.

According to reports, large-scale medical equipment refers to the medical equipment listed in the management items of the health administration department under the State Council, as well as the complete set of medical equipment with a unit price of more than 5 million yuan which has not been listed in the management items and is first configured in the provincial areas. The allocation of large medical equipment must be suitable for China’s national conditions and regional health planning principles, and fully take into account the advanced nature, suitability and accessibility of technology. The national health and Family Planning Commission has formulated the management measures for large medical equipment management consulting experts, aiming to strengthen the management of large medical equipment, give full play to the role of experts in decision-making and consultation, and promote standardized, scientific and refined management.

The “experts” mentioned in the “methods” refer to the personnel in the fields of Radiology, radiotherapy, oncology, nuclear medicine, medical engineering, health management, etc., who are entrusted by the national health and Family Planning Commission to participate in the management and consultation of large-scale medical equipment in an independent capacity.
